2014 McGladrey Classic Raises More Than $930,000 for Charities
The fifth annual McGladrey Classic, an Official Event of the PGA TOUR held at Sea Island Golf Club, raised more than $930,000 for children and family charities, announced the Davis Love Foundation, the host organization of the event. This brings the five-year charitable contribution of the tournament to more than $2.7 million.
Charitable dollars are distributed by the Davis Love Foundation, which was established in 2005 by professional golfer Davis Love III and his wife Robin. The Foundation contributes to the well-being and progress of society by supporting both national and community-based programs that focus on children and their families. The Foundation’s mission is to help build a better future for children and their families who are at risk of poor educational, economic, social and health outcomes.
Davis Love III Presents 2014 Buick Verano to Birdies Fore Love Winner
For the third year, the Davis Love Foundation collaborated with children and family charities on the Birdies Fore Love program as part of the 2014 McGladrey Classic, an Official PGA TOUR event held last month. The program allows individuals to make a donation to a participating charity and guess the total number of birdies in the four competitive rounds of the tournament. Participants could also opt in to win a 2014 Buick Verano donated by Nalley Brunswick Automobiles. The vehicle is awarded to the person with the closest guess without going over. “We are proud to support Birdies Fore Love. It’s a wonderful cause and a wonderful organization,” said Bill Redford, General Manager of Nalley Automotive. “It’s been proven that The McGladrey Classic provides a significant economic benefit to the Golden Isles. We are excited to be involved for the fifth straight year.”
