McGladrey Classic’s Birdies Fore Love Program More Than Doubles Contributions to Local Charities in 2013
As part of its 2013 event, The McGladrey Classic expanded the Birdies Fore Love program which was launched last year. The charitable program gives individuals a chance to guess the number of total birdies in the four competitive rounds and pledge a penny or more per birdie or a minimum total pledge of ten dollars. The program raised more than $34,500 for more than thirty local charities, up from $16,000 in 2012. The Special Olympics – Coastal Georgia also received a $5,000 bonus for their donor being closest to 1,242 without going over.
“This is an exciting program and a fun way to raise additional dollars for charities,” said Davis Love III, Tournament Host and 20-time PGA TOUR winner. “I am very proud of the way that our community embraced the initiative which has such a wide-reaching and positive impact on children and families.”
